The theme of this artwork was to express “myself.” Although I have often taken time to think about who I am, most of those moments ended with me simply shaking my head and returning to whatever I was doing. This was one of the very few times I truly sat with the question of what kind of person I am.

I have always admired successful people. With their unique personalities and talents, they make their names known to the world and share their work widely. To me, they seemed like butterflies—gracefully flying across the world while scattering pollen wherever they go.

In contrast, I am still unknown. I do not yet know who I am, nor do I know what kind of wings I will eventually spread. However, one thing is certain: while I long to become like those butterflies and look up to them, I have been too afraid of the trials I must overcome and the reality I must face in order to finally take flight. Because of this, I saw myself as a caterpillar still enclosed within its chrysalis, and so I created this piece.

Sadly, I remain in that chrysalis even now.
When will I finally gather the courage to emerge?
